"RIZ": A LIFE AMONG THE VINES
I AM ALBERTO RIZZO, KNOWN TO ALL AS "RIZ." BORN IN ALBA IN 1987, I GREW UP IN MY GRANDFATHER DUILIO’S VINEYARDS, LEARNING TO LISTEN TO THE LAND FROM MY VERY FIRST STEPS.
DRIVEN BY PASSION, I GRADUATED FROM THE SCHOOL OF OENOLOGY AND EARNED MY DEGREE FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF TURIN. AT 25, BECOMING AN OENOLOGIST WAS THE REALIZATION OF A LIFELONG DREAM.
TODAY, I MERGE TECHNICAL EXPERTISE WITH MY FAMILY HERITAGE, CRAFTING WINES THAT HONOR MY ROOTS AND EXPRESS THE CONTEMPORARY SOUL OF THE LANGHE.

AFTER YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN PRESTIGIOUS WINERIES WITHIN THE BAROLO AREA, I TOOK UP THE BATON FROM MY GRANDFATHER. I RENOVATED THE OLD STABLE NEXT TO THE VINEYARD, TRANSFORMING IT INTO MY OWN CELLAR, AND IN 2021 I FINALLY VINIFIED MY FIRST VINTAGE. AND WHAT AN INCREDIBLE VINTAGE IT WAS!

MY WINES ARE A SYNTHESIS OF TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE AND FAMILY TRADITION: SA’DUZET, A CLASSIC LANGHE DOC DOLCETTO THAT EMBODIES OUR TERRITORY, AND SA’DFIU’, A UNIQUE DRY WHITE WINE CRAFTED FROM THE VINEYARD ADJACENT TO THE WINERY. OUR INITIAL PRODUCTION TOTALS 2,500 BOTTLES—SMALL NUMBERS COMPARED TO LARGE-SCALE OPERATIONS, BUT A TRULY PROMISING START FOR THE JOURNEY AHEAD.

BECAUSE I PRODUCE HIGH-QUALITY WINES THAT ARE THE TRUE EXPRESSION OF THE LANGHE.
BECAUSE I CRAFT EVERY BOTTLE WITH DEEP PASSION AND TECHNICAL EXPERTISE.
BECAUSE I FOLLOW THE PRINCIPLES OF TOTAL SUSTAINABILITY, BOTH IN THE VINEYARD AND IN THE CELLAR.
BUT ABOVE ALL, BECAUSE I GREW UP ON THESE HILLS—NOW A UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE—AND NOW I WANT TO HELP THEM GROW WITH ME.
